AYURVEDA

Ayurveda—a Sanskrit word meaning “science of life” is the natural health care system of India considered to be one of the oldest in the world, with roots going back over 5,000 years into the Vedic era. Ayurveda not only provides an integrated approach to preventing and treating physical and mental disease through lifestyle interventions and natural therapies but is concerned with bringing the individual to an innate state of balance wherein they can realise their full human potential. It is regarded as the sister science to yoga and when practised together forms a total system of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being. Treatments are personalised and based on the understanding of each individual’s constitution using herbal medicines and oils, diet, exercise and lifestyle regimens to restore harmony and vitality and using many yoga practices to treat organically and holistically. We offer a wide range of Ayurvedic therapies and detoxification programmes in our Ashrams designed to bring health and harmony to body and mind—a unique opportunity to experience the healing effects of classical Ayurveda healthcare in a peaceful and restful environment, while benefiting from the Ashram daily programme of yoga classes, meditation sessions and more. Our practitioners are highly-trained, expert in prescribing treatments designed to meet individual needs, modifying dietary, medicinal and massage requirements as required to restore optimum health and well-being. The treatments and healing programmes are individually designed to suit all, regardless of age and gender. Since Ayurveda is preventative as well as curative, you need not have a specific problem to benefit from the wide-ranging treatments we offer.

Our Ashrams offer an extensive range of workshops, retreats, training programmes and certification courses on the science of Ayurveda.
